Painting is a medium that allows a ready way to use and see layered effects -  By painting "veils" to thicken the image and obscure the original concept or tradition.  

By using leftover consumer goods to make political and social statements.  

My collages are personal, and because of that may be a bit more difficult to understand.  Most of the collages deal with growing up & with the military influence in my life. I try to display the rights and wrongs of this influence.

In our fast paced world, heritage and cultural traits are constantly being homogenized. 

Individuals that on the first appearance seem to be similar, but as you peel away the layers, are very different
